The Liga Metropolitana Fortaleza project is designed to develop amateur football in
Fortaleza and neighboring municipalities. The tournament creates a structured and
sustainable sporting environment, allowing teams to participate free of charge, without the
need to establish their own legal entities.
According to the organizers, discipline, safety and transparency are the core principles of
the league. All sporting, organizational and disciplinary decisions are taken strictly in
accordance with the approved Regulations and Statute.
In the medium term, the league is seen as the foundation for a permanent amateur
competition calendar in the region, as well as for future expansion of the project, including
the creation of a women’s tournament.
